Prevention of coherence collapse in diode lasers by dynamic targeting.
We numerically show that a laser that would suffer from coherence collapse if precautions were not taken can be made to operate with a small linewidth and a stable maximum output power by application of a new dynamic targeting technique.
متن کاملTailoring the coherence length of diode lasers
The control of the coherence properties of laser light is a major success factor in many photonic applications – in areas as diverse as spectroscopy and optical pumping of atoms, nonlinear frequency conversion, interferometry, or laser-based imaging. Established diode laser technology has however only covered individual points of the “coherence length spectrum”. Recently developed electronic te...

Femtosecond Cr:LiSAF and Cr:LiCAF lasers pumped by tapered diode lasers.
We report compact, low-cost and efficient Cr:Colquiriite lasers that are pumped by high brightness tapered laser diodes. The tapered laser diodes provided 1 to 1.2 W of output power around 675 nm, at an electrical-to-optical conversion efficiency of about 30%. Using a single tapered diode laser as the pump source, we have demonstrated output powers of 500 mW and 410 mW together with slope effic...

Rapid prototypings using direct selective laser sintering (SLS) ofmetal/ceramic powders have a great potential for design and fabrication of near net shape of metal/ceramic parts. At presents CO2, Nd:YAG and Excimer are the only possible solutions for the heavy duty manufacturing applications. At the University of Connecticut, researchers advanced the concept of rapid prototyping and other desk...
